Cabin Fever at The Homestead Inn (Billionaires In Hiding Family Romance Series Book 5) by Kimberly Krey

A violent man on the hunt,
an undercover bodyguard mistaken as his target.
Can unexpected love bloom in the heart of danger?

It's time to unfold the conclusion of the Billionaires In Hiding Series.

 * Amazon * Goodreads

It's here!  The final book in this Billionaires In Hiding series!  This family of siblings has become so familiar to me and I've been rooting for them all along.  Maverick is the last of the bunch to get his happily ever after and it was worth the wait.  The chemistry between Maverick and Ember was sizzling from the beginning.  I'm so glad I didn't have to wait too long for some kissing because yeah, it was fun.  The whole overarching plot that stretched across the whole series finally came to an exciting ending.  It gave this book a bit of light suspense and I liked that.  And what a happy epilogue!  This book was so satisfying all the way around.

I would recommend reading this series in order.  It will be so much more pleasurable if you do.  This book releases on March 31st and will be on Kindle Unlimited if you have it.

Content:  kissing, mild peril, mild violence

Winter Kisses At The Homestead Inn (Billionaires in Hiding #4) by Kimberly Krey

There has been one happy ending after the next at The Homestead Inn, but two of the Duran brothers, Maverick and Emmitt, are still looking for love. Find out who's next in line to find the love of their lives.

Emmitt’s about to fall for a private investigator and he doesn’t even know it.
Sloane is going to fall for him too, just before she learns that she’s working for the wrong side.

The suspense is kicking up in Winter Kisses at The Homestead Inn.

*** This series is best read in order. ***

Billionaires In Hiding Series includes:
1. Springtime Love at The Homestead Inn: Country Boy & City Girl
2. Summer Nights at The Homestead Inn: While He Was Sleeping
3. Autumn Romance at The Homestead Inn: Do Nice Guys Finish Last?
4. Winter Kisses at The Homestead Inn: Flirting With The Enemy
5. Spring Fever at The Homestead Inn (Coming March 2022)

 * Amazon * Goodreads *

Let's hear it for book 4 in this series and Emmitt, who finally gets his very own love story!  We're working our way through this whole family of siblings and while each sibling gets their own love story, there is a slow, overarching, building sense of danger.  It's a cool thing and I really like it.  It keeps me coming back for more!

I think Emmitt and Sloane have a great build to their relationship.  It felt natural and believable.  I settled in with the easily and quickly, even knowing how it was all going to blow up.  This Duran family is resourceful and resilient though and they know how to support and help each other.  I really like that strong sense of family in this series.

As stated above, this series is best read in order.  They are all in KU if you have that which is where I picked up this book.  This author is a favorite of mine and I love when she adds some suspense and danger into her books.

Five Days With My Super Hot Ex by Kimberly Krey

Five Days
Dozens of cameras
Millions of viewers
One Second Chance
When Nikki and her old high school flame go on a reality TV show, they’re locked in a home while the cameras roll. The goal? Help these high school sweethearts fall back in love. Is the old spark still alive or did it fizzle out long ago?

I'm excited to share with you another novella from the new Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After collection!  This one is by another favorite of mine, Kimberly Krey.

Can you imagine reuniting with your ex boyfriend on a reality TV show to see if the sparks and love are still there?  What a great premise for a story, right?  It really helped with the quick development of a relationship knowing the couple already had an established foundation and with Kai and Nikki, sparks are flying from the very beginning.  It was fun getting to know them through memories and flashbacks and to see what went wrong.  I really enjoyed their journey back to each other, the kissing and, of course, the happily ever after.  It sure would be fun to see more stories in this reality TV world of ex's.

Summer Nights At The Homestead Inn: While He Was Sleeping (Billionaires In Hiding Family Romance Series Book 2) by Kimberly Krey

Two brothers.
One Woman.
And a whole lot of commotion.

They can't let the others know about their romance.
Good thing they have those warm summer nights.

When a set of billionaire twins unwittingly offer Ava a chance to escape her abusive boyfriend, she takes it. Who knew the one-way trip to Costa Rica would lead them to a relocation program in Haven Hills, where the twins' siblings, including their "oldest ornery brother" Richard live in hiding?

As Ava finds her place in their new destination, she also finds herself drawn to none other than the oldest brother, despite obvious advances from one of the twins. Things take a turn when that twin winds up on strict bedrest while attempting a stunt to impress her. Days later, Ava discovers that Richard feels the same undeniable spark between them, and so starts their summer nights rendezvous. In a hiding spot of their very own, Richard and Ava give into sweet romance, passionate kisses, and talk of how they'll eventually tell his family about their love.

Richard knew better than to fall for a woman his brother Maverick had the hots for. But he can't deny his attraction to Ava, a woman who actually loves math as much as he does. Besides, the two weren't dating. Maverick had no right to stake his claim on her.
But that doesn't change the fact that he and Ava's secret romance could start a whole lot of trouble when he finds out.

 * Amazon * Goodreads

I am loving this series so far.  This family of siblings is in the witness protection program- new identities, new life.  It's fun to watch love find them one by one.

Ava is someone I was invested in and rooting for from the very beginning.  I'm so glad those crazy twins pulled her into their mess because heaven knows Richard needed someone to soften him up!  It was fun watching them fall for each other, stealing kisses and sneaking glances.  I loved the "while you were sleeping" vibe.  This book was a great escape from reality that I really needed this week.

I wonder which sibling is up next?  I'm excited to find out!  This book and this series is on KU if you have that.

--------------------------

Now each must hide their secret past, adapt to their unexpected future, and learn how to answer the call when love comes knocking.

 * Amazon * Goodreads

I always love reading books by author Kimberly Krey!  I've been reading them for years and she is an author I can depend on for sizzling sweet romance.  This is the first book in a new series and I'm excited about it!  This book kind of sets the stage for the series and introduces us to a cast of characters- siblings- who are hiding away in the protection program.

First up is Andie, the only girl in this family.  She and her brothers get off to a rocky start with Trenton who definitely has a chip on his shoulder.  He's confused and feeling a bit left out and betrayed by his grandfather who harbored a LOT of secrets.  There is an excellent cast of secondary characters that help give this book a sense of home and family.  I loved the developing friendship and love between Andie and Trenton.  It was a slow burn kind of thing but once that first kiss came- hold on to your hats, friends- things really picked up steam.

This was a fun, romantic escape.  Easy reading, left me feeling happy kind of book.  I'm looking forward to the next one!

Snowed In For Christmas : A Fun Feel-Good Holiday Romance Novel by Kimberly Krey

Three things are to blame for the chaos:

Easton lost a bet.
Ivy wants a promotion.
And Denver was hit with the biggest blizzard its seen in years.

Now, they're stuck in a hut for Christmas with nothing but the fire to warm them. Unless, of course, they can warm up to each other.

 * Amazon * Goodreads *

This was the perfect book for me to read today.  I loved the romance and especially the kissing.  Author Kimberly Krey knows how to write a great kissing scene.  Yum.

Easton and Ivy are fun characters.  I loved their connection and how their romance blossomed quickly and deeply.  Easton was so considerate and did a great job of taking care of Ivy.

I'm really craving books that feel good around my heart right now.  I want light and I want happy.  This book delivered everything I was longing for and I'm super grateful for that.  It helped me combat some of those winter blues I tend to get.  Plus, 2020.  Am I right?

This book is just $.99 right now!  It is also on KU if you have it.  Grab it and enjoy a quick, romantic getaway that will leave your heart feeling happy.

The Billionaire's Second Chance: Benton Billionaire Romance (Benton Brothers Romance Book 4) by Kimberly Krey

Billionaire Duke Benton, the last bachelor standing among the Benton Brothers, has a second chance at romance with a woman from his past. The one woman he regrets letting go of. But can he keep her in his grip this time?

It's a new book by Kimberly Krey!!  And guess what?  It's a good one!  Second chance stories are so fun.

These Benton brothers are something else.  After the last book where Duke's twin brother poses as him and ends up getting the girl, I knew Duke's story would be a good one.  Vivi is the one that got away and Duke has always regretted it.  As he should because Viv is smart, compassionate and beautiful.  She also has more to protect now than she did ten years ago so Duke has his work cut out for him.

I genuinely liked these characters so it was easy to fall into their story.  As per usual, Kimberly Krey delivers some yummy kissing and some zingy attraction.  Plus, Costa Rica!  I really want to go there.

Even though this is book four in this series, each book can easily stand alone.  You will probably be happier if you read these books in order as this family of characters show up in each book.  This series is on KU if you have that.

Big Sky (Timeless Western Collection) by Kimberly Krey, Annette Lyon, Cindy Roland Anderson

THE COWBOY’S CATCH by Kimberly Krey: When Jason Keller bids on a date with Marlee at the town’s annual fundraising event, she’s quick to turn him down. First of all, an evening with Marlee was never on the table; just dates with each of her younger sisters. Beyond that, Jason Keller—a man with Hollywood ties—is the last cowboy in town she’d go on a date with. Being abandoned because of her own mother’s Hollywood pursuits taught her well. But when the Keller Cowboy offers a hefty sum for the charities in question, in front of half the town no less, Marlee’s compelled to accept. It’s just one date after all, and it’s not like she’d ever fall for a man like him. Or so she thinks.

SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART by Annette Lyon: Teresa adores her job as manager of the J-Bar-D Ranch, which boards horses and offers riding lessons. The owner, Dorothy, has become like a grandmother to Teresa. But when Dorothy passes away unexpectedly, the ranch is put up for sale by none other than Dorothy’s only grandson, Derek. Even with the obvious chemistry between them, Teresa refuses to consider dating the guy who’s going to turn her beloved ranch into a strip mall. Derek wishes more than anything that he didn’t have to sell, but Grandma Dorothy ran the ranch into deep debt, and Derek’s own mother has ongoing medical bills. Without selling the ranch, he can’t pay off the debts or take care of his mother. If only he’d met Teresa had met at in a different time and place, they might have a future.

THE COWBOY’S SECOND GO by Cindy Roland Anderson: When recently divorced Callie Stewart, an aspiring country music artist, confronts the dishonest talent agent who stole her new song, he turns the tables on her, and her world spins out of control. Without proof she composed the hit song, Callie is forced to take her twin boys with her, move out of Nashville and live with her aunt in Montana. Having her dreams shattered leaves her trying to figure out how she will support her little family. Reconnecting with Ty Carter, her long-ago crush from high school and the guy who broke her heart, has her questioning her resolve to leave romance out of her new life. Ty isn’t just a good-looking cowboy, he’s sweet to her boys and makes Callie feel beautiful and alive. As her feelings for Ty grow stronger, the music reawakens inside her, inspiring her creativity and the desire to sing. Giving love a second chance might be the key to a forever love, and the start of a new music career…but can it be both?

 * Amazon * Goodreads

What a fantastic collection of stories!  I love these Timeless collections because you get multiple stories by different authors all revolving around a common theme.  These stories all have a contemporary western feel to them and I do so love a good cowboy story.  Kimberly Krey and Cindy Anderson are two of my favorite authors so I was all in for this collection and it didn't disappoint.  The attraction, the misunderstanding and love were there in all three stories.  I loved it from beginning to end!

The Fearless Warrior: Navy SEAL Romances 2.0 by Kimberly Krey

When Jace moves in with Amy to protect her from a predator, romance blooms, and Amy wonders who will protect her heart.

Denver’s Average Amy does TV reviews for the latest trends, but when her name ends up on a human trafficking website, life feels anything but average. Especially when old crush turned hot Navy SEAL Jace Burns shows up at her door offering protection. Protection from who? What? And did she already mention hot?

Jace Burns is known for his fearless nature. He’s risked his life overseas, endured time as a prisoner of war, and was even presumed dead. Too bad all that goes out the window when he comes face to face with Amy Nelson. He hadn’t paid close attention to her in high school but he’s paying attention now.

While romantic sparks fly and the danger begins to grow, one question fills Amy’s mind: Are Jace’s feelings real, or is he using her to help take down the threat?

 * Goodreads * Amazon

 Ummmmm.  Yumma.  Yes.

I think that right there is enough of a positive endorsement that you should read this book but I guess I'll try to drum up a few more complete sentences just in case you need more.

I loved that Jace and Amy have history.  They knew each other before, in high school, so their attraction wasn't something new.  It provided a fun starting point when they cross paths again.  Yay for zingy attraction and yummy kisses.  Jace just oozes manly strength, with the smarts to back it up.  He's playing for keeps and it's so attractive.

Also, the main character's name is Amy Nelson.  That's pretty much my name (first name spelled a little different, and before I was married, but still)  Every time I read it, it just felt so weird.  My name.  In my head.  But not me.  haha

This is the perfect book to snatch up when you are looking for romantic "take me away" story.  The added bit of light suspense was bonus for me.  I loved it.

The Snapshot Bride: A Cobble Creek Romance (Cobble Creek Romance) by Kimberly Krey

Love is in the air in Cobble Creek—for everyone but Anthony Marino. Month after month the owner of Tony’s Diner watches happy couples stroll through that bell-chiming door, and he can’t help but wonder if it will ever be him. The winds shift drastically in his favor when Kira Moretti rings that very same bell. During a childhood visit to Cobble Creek, the outgoing girl pegged him with his first kiss. When she sets those brown eyes on him years later, he’s pleased to find the feelings are still there. But is Kira here to stay, or does she—like the other women in Anthony’s past—have her eyes set on a different life?

It’s no surprise that Kira Moretti has an imperfect past that soiled the family name. So when Grandpa Moretti leaves his Cobble Creek photography studio to her in his will, Kira’s determined to prove herself worthy. Cobble Creek is just as charming as she remembered, and even better—so is the handsome guy from Tony’s Diner. Chemistry between them sparks fast, and soon Kira’s certain she’s right where she needs to be. But when someone from her past shows, offering long-sought redemption, Kira has to make a choice. Stay with the man she’s just fallen in love with, or take the offer and risk losing him forever.

Woo hoo!  It's a new book by Kimberly Krey!  I always feel like the luckiest girl when Kimberly sends me a copy of her newest book.  It really makes me happy- like do a happy dance- happy.  I'm a Kimberly Krey fan.  No doubt about it.

I loved that these two characters- Kira and Anthony- had some history albeit a young child history.  They had happy memories with each other so when they met up again as adults, the chemistry and friendship already had a foundation.  This allowed for some sparky attraction and a relationship that blossomed quickly.

Kira is a fun, quirky character.  I just loved her.  Her insecurities made her endearing and so human.  And Anthony?  He's just a stand up kind of guy- so supportive and encouraging of Kira.  I'm a big fan of those kind of men!

This was just an easy reading, sweet romance.  Perfect for the rainy day I found myself reading it.  I enjoyed the ride and I loved the ending.  So very romantic.  <sigh>

How to Catch a Cowboy in 10 Days (Unlikely Cowgirl) by Kimberly Krey

There’s no denying Ann Simpson is passive, so when she’s challenged to read a book that could change her life, she eagerly accepts. If she writes a winning article about her transformation, it could earn her a writing slot with Walquest Weekly, taking her career to the next level. And who knows—maybe it could empower her to step out of her romance novels and into her own happily ever after.

Ann packs her bags and her book and heads to Montana where she hopes to reinvent herself. Caught off guard by the cowboy of her dreams, Trey Richardson, Ann falls hard and fast. But does Trey love the real Ann, or the book-made woman she’s invented for the article?

One of my favey faves has done it again with this new release!  I'm just going to say this right now because I know it needs to come out of me and even though I say this all the time, here goes:  There is just something about cowboys.  <sigh>

Ann and Trey are two characters I liked from the very first pages.  I fell right into the story and their lives so easily.  I love when that happens.  This story plays out just like a movie.  I wish this were a movie because it would probably be one of my favorite chick flicks!  It has all the right yummy elements.

My favorite quote:  "Life isn't living if you don't fight the fear."  Yes.  That.

Once Hitched Twice Shy (Unlikely Cowgirl) by Kimberly Krey

Mia Reynolds is the host of popular Vlog show, Try My Life, where she tries other folks’ jobs while the camera rolls. So far, each episode has been filmed in Oregon, yet when Mia gets an invitation from her Granddad to try life on his ranch in Montana, she’s ready for roping, riding, and even shoveling piles of muck. What Mia isn’t prepared for is losing her heart to the brooding ranch hand, Hunter Coleman.

Hunter lost big in love when his ex left him for her Hollywood dreams. When Mia Reynolds spends a week on the ranch to film her hit online show, Hunter is sure she’s just another version of his self-centered ex. But all too soon he sees new sides of the fun-loving woman that urge him to toss his wounded heart to the wind and give love another try.

Once the sparks start to fly, Mia's forced to make a difficult choice, one that gives Hunter a bad case of Déjà vu. When the fear of losing another woman to the spotlight becomes too much, Hunter might have to cut his losses before he gets in too deep. The trouble is, he's already in over his head.

It's always a happy day for me when I get to read a new book by Kimberly Krey.  She is a fun author and she knows how to make her characters feel real and perfectly imperfect.

This one filled all my fluffy romantic desires perfectly.  There was plenty of snappy banter and cracklin' attraction.  Hunter is broody and well, twice shy.  But like everyone else, he cannot help but be sucked into Mia's sunshine.  Mia is the kind of person who brings people right into her circle of warmth and happiness.  I loved the Vlog angle and the current vibe it brought to this story.

I did a lot of smiling throughout this book.  It was just what I've come to expect from Kimberly Krey.  No wonder she is one of my favorites!

The Sheriff's Bride: Country Brides & Cowboy Boots (Cobble Creek Romance Book 1) by Kimberly Krey

Trent Lockheart might be the new sheriff in town, but he can’t stop Jessie Jean from stealing his heart.

Sheriff Trent Lockheart knew he’d be in for a challenge when he moved from the big city and a large police force to the small Wyoming town of Cobble Creek. But at least he’d be able to stick to his bachelor ways without temptation. So he thought. Cobble Creek isn’t overflowing with young, single ladies, but Jessie Jean—the gorgeous brunette who runs the Country Quilt Inn—proves more tempting than any woman he’s known.

Jessie doesn’t care much for the new sheriff in town. After an explosive first meeting that almost ends in Jessie’s arrest, she’s even more determined to plan on dinner for one for the rest of her life. Sure, the new sheriff is seriously attractive, and after a second, much less dangerous run-in, he might not be that bad, but Jessie has no plan to marry, date, or even let a man into her life. Still, as the days pass, Trent’s surprising charm works past Jessie’s determination, and she finds promise in their budding relationship.

After opening up about the difficulties in her past, Jessie finds that Trent is guarding a dark tragedy of his own, one that might threaten their chance at a future together.

How cute is this cover?  I just love it!  And I love author Kimberly Krey.  She is so good at writing characters I end up caring about and sparky scenes with witty banter.

Trent and Jessie meet in a less than ideal way.  They start out on the wrong foot- completely misjudging each other.  It happens though.  We make judgments based on what limited knowledge we have and once we get more of the story, we usually understand each other better.  It's the same with Trent and Jessie.  That spark of attraction was there from the beginning and it grows as they get to know more about each other.  The misunderstanding and early judgments fall away as a friendship and respect take root.

I loved the arc of this story- how it led me so easily from one emotion to the next.  This book was so easy to fall into with a great cast of characters and a strong feeling of community.  I really enjoyed it!

Fresh Starts: Bree's Story (Second Chances #3) by Kimberly Krey

Bree has had her fair share of difficulties. The loss of her parents, a not-so-recent divorce, and the disruption of her life caused by a stalker now who’s serving jail time. When the determined criminal finishes his sentence, Bree is sent into hiding. And while she’s doing all she can to steer clear of this frightening piece of her past, an old acquaintance enters the scene, determined to be part of her future.

I love reading Kimberly Krey books!  She knows how to write chemistry and sizzle without crossing the lines of comfort for me.  I've been waiting for this book- to finally see Bree's story come to life.  It's always a happy day when I get a new book from Kimberly!

This is the third book in the Second Chance series.  I don't think you have to read them in order as they can stand alone, but you will have a better understanding of the secondary characters and references to them if you have read the previous books in order.

Greyson was awesome.  He is strong and smart and determined to keep Bree safe.  Because Greyson and Bree knew each other from high school there was already a thread of knowing between them.  Probably more on Greyson's end as he definitely had a crush on Bree way back when and he is now seeing her in a new light but with the added responsibility of keeping her safe.  I loved how Greyson tried to understand Bree's personality and give her what she needed in order to feel independent and safe.  He is so attentive to her and that is very attractive.

The apple orchard was the perfect, beautiful setting for growing love and attraction.  It was fairly isolated, with hours and hours of working alongside of each other.  There are sparks that lead to a growing attraction and love.  It all felt natural and good.  I loved the added element of the stalker and the tension and bit of suspense it added to the book.  This was so diverting and fun!  I loved it.

Getting Kole for Christmas by Kimberly Krey

Kylie’s been crushing on Kole for two years now, but can she get him to see her as more than a friend?

For years Kylie has watched her older sisters get asked to every school dance there is. Yet once she’s old enough to go, the invites are in short supply. While getting overlooked has never felt good, it hasn’t really hurt the way it does this year. Because now there’s someone she really wants to go with: Kole Kingston. Kole is charming and funny. Gorgeous and kind. And everything she wants in a guy. Trouble is, he’s also her very best friend. Can Kylie tear herself free from the friend-zone in time to get asked to the Christmas dance? Or will she – like so many others – find that a romance between them will never be?

 * Amazon * Goodreads *

I am so super-dee-dooper excited that one of my fave's in the writing world dipped her foot into the YA genre!  Yay!  This YA novella tells me that she should do more than dip, she should immerse.

I think the two words I would use for this novella are "so cute".  From the cover to the sweet story inside, cuteness is everywhere.

Kylie is one of many teenage daughters in her family.  She often feels lost in the shuffle of everyone else.  Her teenage insecurities shine through- spot on.  The whole anxiety about getting asked to a school dance and watching everyone else be asked?  Yeah, that has happened in my house on more than one occasion.  I felt like I was reading a story about my daughter!

Kimberly Krey nails the whole thing because Kylie's voice is perfect.  I loved Kylie and I loved Kole.  What a sweet, sweet story.  It made me smile.

And now Kimberly Krey has starting something.  I can't wait to see what she come up with next!

Even though she hasn’t fully healed from the heartache she endured over their married years, she can't fathom the thought of losing him a second time. But when he discovers that Candice is about to file for a divorce, he decides he better take action quick. He didn’t spend the best years of his life with this woman, only to let her slip away. Yet just when the opportunity comes again – his chance to finally make things right – an entirely new force threatens to tear them apart. Will opposition keep the heart-broken couple from getting back together or will they have the strength to break through the barriers, no matter what their future might bring?

I'm always over the moon when a new book from Kimberly Krey comes out.  Usually I grab it up right away and read it no matter how far away in my review schedule it is.  I couldn't do that this time and this book sat there, taunting me, every single day.  It was such a happy day when I finally, finally got to settle in to enjoy it.

I'm loving this series because it's all about second chances.  In this book, Candice and Logan are married but have separated because Candice needed some space.  She had a lot of emotional things to work through and decided that it would be easier to do apart.  (bad choice, Candice)  Logan is ready to give things another go.  He is not letting Candice go without a fight but after a year apart, it's hard to find the common ground once again.

I loved Logan's fight.  I loved how deeply he cared and how he tried in both the big things and the little things.  Candice doesn't always give Logan any good reason to continue fighting.  In fact, even I thought Logan should walk away several times.  But, he doesn't.  He just stays and keeps trying.  How's that for a knight in shining armor?

This book tackles many real issues that people face today.  The struggles are real and I felt like this book portrayed them well.  The emotion was there and I felt it.  Frustration, heartbreak, discouragement, loneliness, hope and happiness.

Above all though, this is a love story.  And I love the second chance at love theme.  Kimberly Krey is one of my favorites!

Content:  Some instances of mild swearing.  Steamy clean kissing and some talk of the intimate relationship between a married couple.  Sex is behind closed doors between a married couple with no details.

I recently got to meet Kimberly at a book signing.  After a couple years of exchanging emails and working up some fun blog posts together, I finally got to meet her in person.  So fun!  Here's a picture from our meeting and then an excerpt from "Mending Hearts".  Enjoy!

Excerpt:
The door creaked to a slow close, and Candice looked up to see their extra guest. Tall, dark, and completely unexpected, Logan stood at the entryway. Her eyes grew wide. If seeing her nephew flirt with his cousin had surprised Candice, the sight of her husband was an outright shock.
Logan offered an awkward wave and timid smile while tiny cracks formed trails into Candice’s heart. Trails that would lead her right back to places she’d already been. Spots she had chosen to leave behind.
The kids rushed over to greet him. But Candice stood rooted in place, her splintered heart picking up pace, working to piece itself back together again. When she could no longer take it, Candice darted out of the room and through the kitchen. A roomful of family caught in their own world. Completely unaware.
Mom.” The word was weak on her tongue.
Marge turned to look at her. The room stilled.
Candice’s eyes locked on her mother’s. Pale. Blue. Questioning.
She wanted to explain that she’d ruined everything Candice had worked toward over the last year. That, in one careless move, she’d ripped the healing scabs from her heart. Candice folded her arms, her hands feeling cold and numb, and forced out the only thing that would come to her lips. “What in the world are you trying to do?”

Cover Reveal from Kimberly Krey!

I'm thrilled to present the cover to my upcoming novel, Rough Edges. A companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series, this sweet story provides a closer look at Allie Emerson. Some of you might know her from novels Reese's Cowboy Kiss and Jade's Cowboy Crush. From one story to the next, we see this adorable character go from supportive wife of a selfish man, to a recently divorced woman raising two girls on her own. With Terrance out of her life for good, it's time for Allie to finally get her happy ending. And what better place to start than Fox's Custom Woodwork, where Braden Fox acts as both owner and carpenter. Oh, and did I happen to mention that he's Terrance's old best friend?

Now for the cover to what will be the forth part to the Sweet Montana Bride series.

Since most of us skip the paperback and go right for the ebook, the back covers are often left unseen. For that reason, I thought I'd include the backside as well, along with the spine. I love this one because it includes a rare and beautiful glimpse into Braden's wood shop, a place I have come to love through discovering more about these characters and their past.

And in case you can't read it from the pic, here's the book blurb:

Divorced mother, Allie Emerson, never imagined she’d be raising two teenage girls on her own. Between parenting and paying the bills, she hasn’t even thought about meeting a man. That changes once she hears local carpenter, Braden Fox, is in need of a secretary. Back in high school, Allie had done all she could to deny the sparks burning between her and Braden; perhaps now they could explore the possibilities.

Braden has heard all about what Terrance did to Allie and the girls, has been planning to stop by and see how she’s getting along, but Allie beats him to it by showing up at his shop in search of a job. Her single visit reignites the old flame Braden used to torch for her; trouble is, old feelings of resentment return as well. Allie did choose Terrance over him, after all. And as much as Braden wants Allie in his life, he’s not sure he can open his heart again.

With this second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Rough Edges will be available on Amazon soon. For updates, sign up for my email list by clicking here. Also receive updates on my FB author page here.

Reese's Cowboy Kiss:
Texan pageant winner, Reese Taylor, has a former classmate who wants her dead. Now she must leave her friends and family to enter a protection program on Emerson Ranch. A group of good-looking cowboys awaits her, but Reese has her eye on Blake Emerson, the one man too busy with the ranch to give her a chance. Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin’ for love. He’s got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong. So when he agrees to harbor a witness to help on the ranch, Blake assumes his first two problems are solved. But he never dreamed his new guest would be a woman. One he was destined to lose his heart to. With sparks burning hot and danger around the bend, one question lingers in his mind: Has he only added to his list of troubles, or has Blake just found the woman of his dreams? * Though this novel is considered clean romance, it does contain passionate kissing and a few minor curse words. *

Jade's Cowboy Crush:
Single mother, Jade Miller, has just witnessed a murder. Now, set to testify against the cold-blooded killer, Jade must be placed under protection. While she is grateful to the kind folks who’ve offered to take in her and her son, Jade is surprised to find the man escorting them from L.A. to Montana is Gavin Emerson. A womanizing, far-too-attractive-for-his-own-good, rebel cowboy. Jade assures Gavin that she has sworn off men until her son is grown, but all too soon she finds herself fighting back feelings for the man who’s agreed to care for them. Gavin wants nothing to do with ranch life. Not since the ugly fallout he had with his father over eight years ago. But when he agrees to come back, harboring Jade and her son for a time, Gavin falls in love with life on the land once again. Above that, he finds his heart has been captured by his lovely house guest, Jade Miller. After reservations on both parts, the two are finally ready to open up and give their new-found love a try. Only they aren’t in the clear just yet, and as a dark and deadly threat falls upon them, Gavin finds that his bad-boy past may have led the danger right to their door. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.*

Cassie's Cowboy Crave:
Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who’ll be posing as her newlywed groom. Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he’s agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family’s way of trying to get him hitched. So why is it when he takes Cassie into his home, Shane wants nothing more than to turn their make-believe marriage into more than just a sham? In a moment of weakness, Shane steals a kiss. In return, Cassie steals his heart. Yet before they confess their undying love, a hidden danger threatens to tear them apart. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.*

FiRsT CrUsHeS- With Guest Kimberly Krey and an awesome book Giveaway!

We all know what it’s like to have a school-aged crush. To be so aware of someone as they move about the room that you can barely focus. Or remember busying yourself in the hall when they walked by so you were doing anything but staring at them and acting all stalk-ish like? Yeah. And we weren’t sure whether they liked us back or not and we weren’t sure if we’d ever know because having our friend ask their friend was (an option – I’m not gonna lie) but scary. So we put that part off and pine after them in silence (except all the times we gush about it to our friends, of course) and we’re just left with this giant ache in the center of our chest. Something that feels quite literally like we’re being crushed.

Well… we thought it would be fun, Aimee and I, to talk about our FIRST CRUSHES! And not just our first crushes in real life. But our first crushes in movies and TV too. But this here goes both ways, because we want to hear about YOURS too! It’s what that little comment box is for.

Here we go. I’ll start:

My first crush was a kid named Cory Vandenburg. I was in the first grade. I have a distinct memory of chasing this blond-haired boy fiercely about the grassy playground. Did I catch him, you ask? Of course. I’m a very fast runner. Always have been, to poor little Cory’s dismay. What did I do with him once he was caught? He-he. I tackled him to the ground, held back his hands, had a friend steady his head for me, and then I kissed him on the forehead. And on both, rosy-from-trying-to-outrun-me cheeks.
Sorry if this is frightening to any young children out there.
So uh, onto Aimee’s first crush story…

Okay, well, my first crush was Bill Norlander and it’s funny because I was also in the first grade.  Bill must have been some sort of first grader stud because all the girls wanted to sit by him during reading time and during films.  Including me.  Once he even held my hand.  We used to play a game on the playground called King of the Mountain.  I only played when Bill was playing because if I knocked him off the half buried tire, he had to give me a kiss on the cheek. And that, my friends, was worth playing for!

I have a list of TV crushes that dates all the way back to… well… a long time ago. To simplify things, I’ll just, ya know, list them off. Like so:

Zack from Saved by the Bell – blond, preppy, need I say more?
Ricky Schroder from Silver Spoons – blond, adorable. Loved.
Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties – good looking, cocky beyond reason, and hilarious. This crush lasted the longest for me. I have always just loved Michael J. Fox.

Seriously?  If those date back to a long time ago, then I am ancient.  Haha  Here are mine:

Bo Duke from the Dukes of Hazzard.  Every Friday night in 4th grade.  I was even a member of their fan club!
Kirk Cameron- he was plastered on my bedroom wall in Jr. High and I watched him faithfully every week on TV.

Oh… My… Goodness! How did I forget about Bo? I was quite in love with him too! Now, onto movie crushes. I know I had tons but I’ll keep the list short and sweet:

Karate Kid – yep. Loved.
The Coreys. You know, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman. Was crazy about both.
Ferris Bueller? Yes, please. Big Crush.

I loved the Karate Kid too.  He made a splash on my crush wall at one point.
Luke Skywalkerfrom Star Wars- I think I have a thing for the good guys…
Captain America- okay, that might be a recent and up to date one, but it’s still a movie crush!!

So there you have it. You know all our wildest secrets (not really), and now we want to know yours! (Really.) Who were you crushing on back in the day? Do we have overlap happening here, because that would be fun. As long as you remember one important thing: I saw him first…

Posting with Kimberly is filled with fun and awesomeness.  She is honestly the best.  I'm so glad she agreed to do this random post with me.  And, because of her awesomeness, she is also providing for 5 ebook copies of her latest book, Jade's Cowboy Crush (which I loved, see my review HERE).  Just enter below!
