First off, I love the cover of this book. I think it's so sweet. I just had to get that out of the way before I started the review. :)
"Devon's Choice" is a Christian Fiction Romance. Devon is a likable character. She is devoted to her father and has a cute dog named Bubby. Devon is living a sort of muted acceptance life. She isn't really living, she is just doing things. Her boyfriend is a loser but she's okay with that because he gets her out of the house once in awhile and takes her to fancy places. She doesn't really care about him at all. Then Brandon shows up and life becomes more about living.
I enjoyed watching Devon transform a bit as she accepts that life might hold more for her than she originally thought. Brandon is a good man. A patient man. Respectful. I liked him a lot.
I wasn't completely engaged emotionally and some parts felt a bit flat to me but overall this was a good story. I always appreciate a good, clean romance.
Enjoy the following excerpt!
Devon complimented everything he’d cooked and commented on his expertise with the barbecue. Brandon nodded, chewed and considered the way the edges of her mouth crinkled at the corners when she smiled and how she’d look up and away before answering a question. This woman across from him was the same one that he’d known for the past several weeks, but now he felt like the Grinch whose heart grew two sizes in one night.
