Can a fake date

Become the real deal?

Triplet Georgie Harrison will do anything to keep her family—including her newfound Blackwell relatives—from worrying about her. Which is exactly why she’s enlisted way-too-charming rodeo cowboy Zach Evans to be her fake boyfriend for her sister’s Montana ranch wedding. The problem is that Georgie’s not just tempted to fall for her own ruse…she’s also falling hard for the roguish cowboy she can never have.

Book 1: Montana Welcome by Melinda Curtis
Book 2: Montana Wishes by Amy Vastine
Book 3: Montana Dreams by Anna J. Stewart
Book 4: Montana Match by Carol Ross
Book 5: Montana Wedding by Cari Lynn Webb

This is book five in this series and in full disclosure, I haven't read any of the other books.  Coming into a series on the last book probably wasn't the best idea.  While the author did a good job of giving me some background, I had a hard time with all the characters.  They would be familiar to me if I had read previous books but unfortunately, there were so many names and faces I didn't know.  I had a hard time connecting emotionally to characters and events because of that.  Obviously, I am going to highly recommend that you read this series in order.  Having said that, I could sense the strong family bonds.  These authors have built quite the family unit with the Blackwells.  (I did read the original Return of the Blackwell Brothers series and really enjoyed it.  This series is a spin off, continuation of that series.)

Zach and Georgie are about as opposite as two characters can get.  They come from different worlds and have very different goals in life.  It was interesting to watch them circle around to similar places.  Zach has always wanted what the Blackwell family has.  Being with them is like a dream come true for him.  I think I connected the most with him and his life struggle, his desires and his dreams.  He was easy to like.  Georgie is a tougher nut and I didn't always understand her but I loved how kind she was to everyone, even when she struggled.

There were so many things happening in this story!  The winter/Christmas setting lends itself to lots of fun family Christmas traditions and troublesome weather.  There is the return of an estranged father, the birth of babies and the reconnecting of sisters.  It was easy to get wrapped up in the holiday feel with the idyllic setting and warm family bonds.  This is a great book to read during this month of December.

Five Golden Wishes by Cari Lynn Webb

Dylan King never intended to get involved with Christmas Town. He'd arranged his business trip to include a short visit with his Aunt Odette. But now he's fixing furniture for Over the River Retirement Home residents, welding a fence for the carousel and extending his stay every other day. If he stopped making up excuses to spend more time with Sadie Kent, he could finally get back to business like he wanted.

Sadie Kent has fallen to a new low. Not only has she ditched Santa School (a birthday gift from her young daughters to regain her Christmas spirit after her holiday divorce last year), Sadie has seriously embellished her culinary skills. Between keeping her volunteer commitments and trying to find a job that won’t interfere with her daughters’ school schedules, baking and decorating Christmas cookies to help raise money for the carousel refurbishment might be one step too far. If Dylan King stopped offering suggestions and distracting her, and reigniting her holiday spirit, Sadie could prove she had everything under control.

Welcome back to Christmas Town where wishes in the heart, no matter how deep they're buried, find a voice. And the power of family and love endures.

'Tis the season for another holiday romance!  I've sure been reading a lot of them lately.  I really love the cover on this book and I think it does a good job of capturing Dylan's personality and handyman abilities.

This book has a whole cast of all kinds of characters.  There are meddling aunts who are over the top, pushy and sneaky.  There are two little girls who are very involved in the story line.  And last but not least, there are the two main characters, Dylan and Sadie, each struggling with difficult things and trying to balance the people around them.  Which is quite a feat, I assure you.

I had a harder time connecting with this book and it's characters.  The last third of the book was definitely the best and brought out all those holiday feelings I look for in a holiday romance such as this.  The feeling of family was what I loved the most there at the end.  3/5 stars.

The Rancher's Rescue (Return of the Blackwell Brothers #2) by Cari Lynn Webb

He isn’t home to stay

Until a mother-to-be changes his mind
Ethan Blackwell is back in Falcon Creek to save his family ranch after his grandfather disappears. When Grace Gardner reveals she’s pregnant with his child, she becomes Ethan’s top priority. But can he be the man he wants to be—preserving the Blackwell legacy and making a life with Grace—in a place he never planned to settle down?

 * Amazon * Goodreads

I am really loving this series!  Each book is about a different Blackwell brother and each book is written by a different author which gives the brothers distinct personalities.  There is continuity because each brother is entering the story at a different time for specific reasons so the story keeps growing and the characters from previous books remain as secondary characters.  It's so good!

Ethan has definite ideas about where he wants his life to be and it isn't at the Blackwell ranch.  He is stubborn and he fights so hard against anything and everything to do with staying there.  And then there is Grace, who wants nothing more than to stay right where she is forever.  Grace works so hard and is so dedicated to her family.  I really loved her.

I thought the story moved along at a good pace and I was interested and invested the whole time.  I'm so excited to read about the next brother!  That book is coming next month for me so stay tuned!  These books would make a fun TV series, I think.

Content:  reference to intimate relations outside of marriage leading to pregnancy with no details.  Clean romance, some kissing.

Make Me a Match: Baby, Baby\The Matchmaker Wore Skates\Suddenly Sophie

Make Me a Match
by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart
Adult Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 384 pages
February 1st 2016 by Harlequin Heartwarming

Three bachelors turned…matchmakers?

One special night with Cooper Hamilton gave Nora Perry a precious gift. But no way is the sweet-talking salesman the right guy for her…or is he?

Former pro athlete Ty Porter could get burned when he falls for the beautiful reporter who ruined his career—and could now expose his most zealously guarded secret!

Gideon Walker has a long history with free-spirited flower shop owner Sophie Jennings. But when the banker-matchmaker fixes her up with potential candidates, he realizes he's made a terrible mistake…

What a fun idea for a book.  This book is three novellas in one, each revolving around one of three characters that we meet in the first book.  They are friends who have common interests and goals and get sucked into a bet of sorts where they become the town matchmakers.  It's a funny concept because these men are in no way suave or experienced in that way.  Actually, they are kind of lunk heads.  Each novella follows one man and his journey in love- even though that's not what he is looking for.

I liked all three books, the last one probably being my favorite of the bunch.  The first book sets things up and the last one ties things together.  I liked that each book was by a different author.  It helped separate the characters and define them as individuals with their own voice.

It is no secret that I am a fan of Harlequin Heartwarming line.  I love that there is a whole line of books dedicated to the sweet and clean.  I know I can pick up any book from this line and not have to worry about content.  It is always a happy day when I can read a book from this line.

Content:  Some references to one night stands, casual sexual relationships, drinking alcohol.

Award winning, USA Today bestseller Melinda Curtis writes the Harmony Valley series of sweet and emotional romances for Harlequin Heartwarming, and the sweet romantic comedy Bridesmaid series. If she isn’t at her computer, she can usually be found: picking up her daughters from school, dropping off at swimming or soccer practice or running into the grocery store for that one thing she forgot on her shopping list. You’ve met Anna J. Stewart (or someone like her) before. She was the girl who spun in circles on the playground hoping her Wonder Woman costume would magically appear before playing cops and robbers a la Charlie’s Angels–as Sabrina (she was the smart one). Anna was the girl in the back of the class with a paperback romance hidden in her algebra book (and yes, she failed algebra).

Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s meant there weren’t a lot of YA books, so she ventured early into mainstream fiction and read Stephen King’s CARRIE at the age of 8. Discovering Nora Roberts and romance novels early in high school opened her eyes to the wonders of storytelling and the beauty of a happily ever after.

So here she is, many years later with an English degree from CSU Sacramento, an RWA Golden Heart nomination behind her, countless stories in her head, and a serious addiction to STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL, and SHERLOCK. She recently wrapped up a nearly 8-year stint working as assistant to NYTimes bestselling author Brenda Novak where she helped run Brenda's annual online auction for diabetes research. When she's not writing or reading (which she never has enough time for!), she's working on dollhouse miniatures and tolerating her overly-affectionate cat named Snickers (or perhaps it's Snickers who tolerates her).
