I lovey lovey love this series!  It has all sorts of hunky alpha males and strong females lighting up the pages.  I've grown attached to the Cade and Loveland families because while each book focuses primarily on one person, the whole family is still around and showing up on the pages.  It gives the series a real sense of family and home.  I don't think you have to read this series in order but you will definitely be happier if you do.

Daryl and Cassidy have history.  It's as painful and difficult to navigate as the present.  Old feelings and new feelings collide and it's stressful!  I'm talking about me here.  It was stressful for me.  haha.  I was personally invested in both Daryl and Cassidy.  I wanted them to figure things out, heal old wounds and be happy.  It was a roller coaster of emotions and wow, did things end in a dramatic way!  This book and it's characters were completely different than any of the other books.  It felt fresh and exciting.  I loved it!

 This has been such a fun series so far.  I am loving it.  Finally we get to Jewel, one of the rare women in the midst of this family of mostly men.  She is feisty, tough and so very smart about ranching and animals.  She is definitely trying to prove herself to everyone- especially her brothers.  Jewel doesn't try to be someone she isn't to impress others.  She just works hard to prove she is good enough for what she wants in each situation she finds herself.  I really loved Jewel.

 One thing I love about this book was Heath's perspective.  He never really paid too much attention to Jewel but then as he spent more time with her, he came to recognize her beauty both inside and out.  It was more of a realization for Heath instead of the instant attraction from the beginning.  I liked that.  But once Heath was aware, boy was he.  

 The family dynamics continue to play a large role in the book as with all the other books in this series.  The bigger story is playing out and shifting with each of the main characters from previous books contributing their part.  I love the ongoing feeling of family and, well, the drama that only family can bring.

 I can't wait for the next book which is coming soon!

I really, really love this series!  There is just something about cowboys, I'm telling you.  The men in these books are hard working, rough and tough, fiercely loyal and maybe just a touch stubborn.  In this book we switch over to Cole who is in the opposing family from the first three characters in the first three books.  This is significant because there is a feud going on between the Cades and the Lovelands that extends back generations.  I love that each previous book gives us glimpses into this feud but that this book brings us a climactic resolution to that feud.  It was so fun to have that added bonus of a mystery being solved weaved into this story line.

From the first few pages into this book I just knew I was going to be hooked into this second chance at first love story.  As everything set up, I said to myself, "Oh, here we go.  This is going to be good."  And it was.  So, so good.  The attraction was there.  The tummy butterflies were there.  My emotions were engaged and I was fully invested in the story.  You can't ask for more than that.  Right?  Yumma cowboy Cole.

Content:  Mention of murder, intimate relations before marriage resulting in pregnancy, kissing.

This book is like the perfect storm.  It has all the elements coming together to make it so enticing to me.  First you have Karen Rock, an author I have been following for years and one of my favorite in the Harlequin Heartwarming line.  Then you have a new addition to a fantastic series based on a tight knit family and hello?  They are cowboys.  See what I mean?  The perfect storm is brewing . . .

Justin is the dark and dangerous one of the family.  Everyone is trying so hard to love him but he just won't let anyone penetrate his wall of defense.  He is angry.  After losing his twin brother, he lost a part of himself and he blames himself although nobody knows why.

I loved that both these main characters were strong yet not.  They both had broken bits that needed fixing and healing yet they were still fighting the good fight.  The attraction was zingy and instant and it just kept building.  The kissing was yummy.  

This is such a great series.  I'm loving it.  Each book can stand alone but I would highly recommend reading them in order because you will be happier and more satisfied if you do.

I'm loving this Rocky Mountain Cowboys series!  The Cade family is at the very center so even though each book focuses on an individual, the whole family is still around.  That makes me so happy!  These Cade cowboys (and cowgirl!) are something else.  I'm going to love following this series through to the end.

Amberley and Jared are best of friends.  They support each other, cheer for each other and push each other to be the best.  The friends to lovers troupe is a fun one and I was really cheering for both Amberley and Jared as individuals and as a couple.

I loved the inclusion of children with physical challenges as Amberley struggled to come to grips with her new challenges and the message that with the right help and love we can all do amazing things.  Helping others brings joy and this book brought this out.  There were lots of feel good moments to be had in this story.

About the Author

In a quest to provide her ELA students with quality reading material, educator Karen Rock read everything out there and couldn't wait to add her voice to the genre. In addition to her work as a Young Adult romance novelist, she's now an author for Harlequin's Heartwarming line and thrilled to pen stories that moms can share with their teenage daughters. She's loved Harlequin books since she spent summers going through her grandmother's Presents books that she passed along in paper grocery bags each year. As half of the writing duo J.K. Rock, Karen also pens young adult romance. When she's not busy writing, Karen enjoys scouring estate sales for vintage books, cooking her grandmother's family recipes, reinventing her gardens to suit her moods and occasionally rescuing local wildlife from neighborhood cats.
