With a delightful blend of mystery, toe-curling kisses, humor, and spine-tingling thrills, Diamond Rings Are Deadly Things is a romantic suspense novel that will keep you turning pages long into the night.
I have been patiently waiting for the day I got to read this
book. I was sent an ARC copy in the mail
and it has just been sitting there, staring at me, waiting, until I could read
it. It’s much easier to ignore ebooks
than print books. J
Rachelle Christensen is a writer I always enjoy. She has an easy reading style with good flow
and good characters. This book sort of
mixes the light and fluffy with the suspense and danger. I thought it was a good balance.
I know lots of people like mystery books where they are
completely surprised by “who done it”.
That’s not me. I really like
figuring out who the bad guy is. It
makes me feel smart. Haha. Even though I know that was the author’s
intent, to let me figure it out, I still like it. In the beginning, I did suspect everyone of
being involved somehow- the delivery driver, the jeweler neighbor, the
boyfriend, everyone. It was awesome.
At first I was a bit confused because it was feeling like I missed a previous story or something. But slowly things unfolded and I had a back story within a story.
It’s obvious that the main character, Adri, has struggled
through some awful things. She is
fighting every day to keep moving forward and capture her dreams. As a reader, it gave me an instant sort of
bond for Adri. She was someone that I
wanted to succeed. She also has an
awesome friend working with her and excellent family support. Adri is a character I was rooting for from
the beginning.
This is a light suspense/mystery book with some
romance. It was clean (YAY!!) and
provided that feeling of escape that I love finding in a book.
You can purchase Diamond Rings are Deadly Things at Amazon.
She enjoys singing and songwriting, playing the piano, running, motivational speaking, and of course reading. Rachelle has an amazing husband, five cute kids, three cats, and five chickens.
