Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?
Most of the books I love the best have made me FEEL something real. They have evoked a real emotion in me so that I walk away feeling connected to the story or the characters.
Of course, my main go-to books for escape are the light, fun, romantic books that create a diversion for my mind. No thinking required. These are the books I feel happy with in the end because I just had a mental vacation. :)
I agree, you gotta love when you feel something from a book. Of course reading is find just to pass the time but when a book sticks with you, you know you're "in love"!

I think you said it better than I did. I said the ones that make my heart pound, but I also like the ones that bring out other strong emotions (sadness, love and romance...etc.) I agree! Thanks for visiting and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteOooh, yes! I can't even explain how true this statement is. The best books I have read did make me feel connected to the protagonists. I cried or laughed or whatever, but it felt REAL. *grin* Same time, I'm an escapist.. But I think with books the great thing is that they are a safe way to explore emotions. If a literary character dies, you are safe to mourn her or him, because.. well, it's not really real. (Bad example.. Really bad example. XD)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

haha I agree. Books that evoke an emotional response are the best. Although I still like my romances the most though. I don't feel too drained after reading them. If it's a romance and it made me reallly emotional, then that's the best!

I'm like you, emotion is good...I like to feel like I'm part of the book. If I get through the whole thing without a single smile or gasp, something is wrong. Very wrong. And if it makes me cry, it must be truly astounding. Happy Friday!

Yes! I am the same, a book has to be emotional for me to enjoy it - I need to be able to connect with it in some way. Great answer, it seems like we have a similarity!

I totally agree with you! The books need to have romance for me, because I'm a hopeless romantic. Give me a good romance book and I'll love the book. ;) I'm a new follower, by the way, and I LOVE your blog background!
