Sleepless Beauty (Someone Else's Fairytale #6) by E.M. Tippetts

Chloe could have had the perfect childbirth…

If only the baby hadn't come two weeks early

If only Jason wasn't working overtime to save his new television series

If only the television crew wouldn't antagonize the archaeologists working next to the set

If only the archaeologists hadn't found that dead body

If only the main suspect wasn't the beloved boyfriend of sweet Lizzie Warner, a girl who deserves to have it all…

Chloe’s first week of motherhood isn't going at all how she hoped, so she is determined to solve the murder, no matter what it takes. Perhaps then the second week can be magical.

This is a series I've been reading since the very beginning and one I would highly recommend reading in order.  If I would have started with this book, I would have been completely underwhelmed.  The characters development happen over the course of the series and the secondary characters all have a major part in different books so yeah, read them in order or you won't be very happy.

Because I have read all the books in this series, it was good to be back with Jason and Chloe again, starting a new chapter of their lives.  I really wish there would have been more interactions between Jason and Chloe, more personal and intimate conversations.  I felt like everything was very surface and I was lacking those emotional connections.  Having said that though, I did still enjoy this story.  Chloe is a smart gal and it's fun to watch her work her magic in solving crimes.  I like where this next book is headed and how the characters are coming together in new ways.  The ending left me wanting more for sure!

Content:  A murder and murder scene is discussed in detail which was a bit gruesome.

- I received a complimentary copy of this book.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Here is something very happy!  You can pick up the first four books in this series right now through July 5th for just $.99!  How awesome is that?!  Four full length books for just a dollar.

Whatever After (Someone Else's Fairytale #5) by E.M. Tippetts

Chloe’s got it all: a happy marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, her first child on the way, and the chance to be the maid-of-honor in her best friend, Lori’s, upcoming wedding. The stresses of the past year are behind her… almost.

Chris Winters, Chloe’s half-brother, still isn’t in jail, even though he’s the main suspect in a double homicide. The police don’t have enough hard evidence to charge him with the crime, but Chloe is certain it was him. After all, he tried to kill her when she was a child.

When Chris begins to stalk Lori, Chloe is furious and decides it is past time he was locked up for good. She has the best security team money can buy, yet she knows they’re missing something, and mistakes in this business can be deadly. The deeper she digs, though, the less the facts add up.

Chloe’s got mere weeks to figure out how to keep her best friend safe, save the wedding from disaster, and get Chris back in jail where he belongs. That is, if she can gather enough evidence before he strikes again.

This is a series I've been following from the very beginning and one I would highly recommend reading in order.  You just won't get the back history and relationships if you jump ahead.  So, for your own reading enjoyment, read this series in order!  :)

The first book in this series begins with the meeting and courtship of Chloe and Jason.  It had more romantic feel but as the series progresses, it's less about their relationship and more about other circumstances that arise and family relationships, always with a bit of suspense and mystery thrown in.

In this book, Chloe is on set with Jason and pregnant with her first child.  Bad things start happening back home and Chloe feels the pull to get there to help.  Chloe holds a lot of guilt over the way her personal life has overflowed to the people around her that she cares about.  She is always trying to protect and save.  I love that Chloe is smart and has such a deep rooted sense of loyalty to those close to her.  Chloe is an awesome friend.

This book felt more like a mystery to me.  The suspense wasn't as prominent in this book although there is a definite build up to the end events.  I didn't really have a clue as to what was really happening and I was learning things right along with the characters for the whole book.  It made me feel like I was a part of the book- not knowing more or less than the characters.

I have enjoyed every book in this series and the natural progression and continuation I've felt from the stories.  Every time I come back to this series I feel like I'm meeting up with old friends which is exactly what I want as a reader.  If you haven't read anything from this author or series, you should!!   This is a fun one!

My Wicked Half Sister (Someone Else's Fairytale #4) by E.M. Tippetts

Chloe never set out to be famous, but her marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, has made her a celebrity by association. Jealous and nosy fans heckle her in public and the tabloids portray her as cold, arrogant, and unworthy of her husband. As bad as that is, it’s about to get a whole lot worse.

Her brother, Chris, is being paroled from prison, where he has been serving a time for shooting and nearly killing Chloe when she was a child. This is not a situation that she wants splashed all over the headlines, especially because this could incite her brother to try to finish the job.

While her movie star husband and in-laws do their best to be understanding, the only people who really know Chloe’s situation are her scatterbrained mother and her half-sister, Beth. Chloe’s mother has made a mess of her personal life again and is in no condition to help her daughter. Beth is Chris’s full sister, and family loyalty dictates that she side with him.

But when a string of crimes occurs all across town that appear tied to Chris, Beth sets out to hunt him down and bring him to justice. Chloe isn’t the only one in mortal danger, now, and if Beth comes to harm while fighting for her, Chloe doesn’t know how she’ll ever forgive herself.

I love this series.  It's one of my favorites because it is engaging and keeps up an even pace.  The characters are familiar to me now and I'm invested in them and their happiness.  I think you probably could read this book as a stand alone, but I don't think it will be as good as if you started from the beginning.

Chloe and Jason are good together.  They've been through a lot of things and they work hard at taking care of each other.  That's what I like best about them.  They are figuring things out together.  Jason especially really steps up in this book and works hard to put Chloe first and be there for her.  Chloe has a lot of big life things happening and she is trying hard to take care of the people she loves but honestly, she has a pretty messed up family and it's sort of crazy!  Chloe is strong even in her moments of weakness- and she does have those- which helps me to relate and empathize with her.

This series sort of reminds me of a soap opera.  Especially this episode.  :)  It has a hint of danger and suspense, tons of family drama- who do you trust?  Old enemies, new allies, and behind it all a sweet continuing romance between a girl and her famous husband.

This book was easy to read.  I read through it quickly and enjoyed all my minutes with these characters.  I'm glad to be a part of the review team for this book and I thank WordSmith Publicity for the review copy.
