Wedding Belles: A Novel in Four Parts by Melanie Jacobson, Jenny Proctor, Becca Wilhite, Brittany Larsen

Harper is an event planner with dreams of taking over the Charleston wedding scene . . . until she meets the biggest Bridezilla of her career. She needs the job, but the only way to keep it is to hire a temperamental chef with big dreams of his own.

Janie is a classical cellist booked to play a posh Charleston wedding. She’s excited to have the lucrative gig until the groom’s brother, Emmett, shows up and asks her to help him play a song he wrote for the happy couple. The only trouble? Emmett is her unrequited high school crush.

Lily has been Dahlia's best friend, partner-in-crime, and now her maid of honor . . . until suddenly there's no wedding, and she's left to clean up Dahlia's biggest mess of all. She's been friends with Deacon, the jilted groom, for just as long, and it's up to her rescue him after Hurricane Dahlia blows through.

Sutton is a photographer running from her past. Only the pleas from her best friend to photograph her wedding could bring Sutton back to Charleston. Her plan is to get in and get out before her ex knows she and their daughter are in town. At least it’s the plan until she meets Max, who turns out to be the safe place she didn’t know she was looking for.

Can each of these couples trust their growing chemistry, or are they on the verge of new disasters?

I'm so glad I got to read this book!  I just adored it.  These authors did a fantastic job of creating a world of characters around one specific event- a wedding gone wrong.  Each story was individual and unique but it was that wedding link and some references to characters in the other stories that gave it that feeling of continuity and community.  We see the wedding from the viewpoints of the wedding planner, the brother and a performer, the maid of honor and the groom, and the photographer and groomsman.

I loved the Charleston setting and the clear "southern" influence.  Although, one story is set mostly in New York and that was fun too!

There is definitely no favorite for me in this collection.  I loved them all and I think this was a very fun idea.  I hope these authors will do this again!

Wrong For You by Jenny Proctor + $25 and Book Giveaway

Lane Bishop is a hardworking, intelligent, young woman. With her recent move to Chapel Hill, she is determined to leave behind the drama and effort of keeping up with the dating scene. Even so, Lane somehow manages to get dragged out by a gaggle of girls to go watch boys play soccer. Just watching is not Lane’s forte, so she joins in the fun and leads her team to victory.

Rather than feeling intimidated by the vivacious beauty on the opposing team, Jamie Hamilton is intrigued. Risking his “untouchable” dating status, he decides to pursue Lane—with a little help from his older brother Simon. With Simon’s behind-the- scenes assistance, Jamie proves irresistible, even to a disillusioned dater like Lane. But as she gets to know both brothers, Lane can’t help but wonder—beneath the grand gestures and romantic words, is she falling for the wrong guy?

This book was so fun.  My smile was out in full force with this one.  The scenes played out so naturally and I could easily visualize what was happening.  It was like the perfect chick flick movie playing out in my head.  See?  Fun!

Yes, the plot is a bit predictable but the unknown is how everything is going to work out in the end when two brothers love the same girl.  That's just a mess waiting to happen because these brothers are close.  They have a fantastic family dynamic that includes loyalty and "I've got your back no matter what".  So yeah, things get messy before they get better.

Lane is fantastic.  She is smart, witty, athletic, beautiful, and full of life and energy.  You can see how different parts of her personality are drawn out by each brother.

I really enjoyed this book.  It light and fun and you have to love a book that brings all the happy, romantic feels with it!

When Colette runs into another stranded passenger—none other than former college boyfriend Drew—she can’t believe how much he’s changed . . . and hasn’t changed. Drew is still the same amazing guy that Colette was foolish enough to blow off for someone else. By the time she’d realized her mistake all those years ago, Drew’s heart had been too broken to give her a second chance. Now Colette can only hope that she can work her way back into his heart.

HEY, HELEN! by Sarah M. Eden
On the surface, Helen seems to have her life figured out. Her advice column, Hey, Helen!, is gaining more readers every week. She regularly hangs out with the guy next door, laughing and chatting over pizza and work. But when her feelings for her handsome neighbor begin tiptoeing toward something more than friendship, Helen can’t help hoping Neil might feel the same way. Between her own uncertainties, his friend-zone treatment of her, and a pair of loudly interfering parents, Hey, Helen! could use a little advice in love.

I love these Timeless Romance Anthology books.  They are so fun.  What could be better than a collection of romance books by your favorite authors?!  For me, not much.  ðŸ˜€

This collection includes six contemporary romance stories all revolving around Valentine's Day.  These surely are not your typical Valentine's Day romances.  They all have a sort of twisty element to add some smiles and fun.  I think my favorite was A Brush With the Law.  It had me shaking my head and cringing in embarrassment.  (I sure hope the author didn't draw off real life experiences for this story!)  It made me laugh though and I love that!

This is the perfect week to pick up this book.  You can read a story each day leading up to Valentine's Day or you can do a binge read, like me.  Either way is happy.

Content:  A few instances of mild swearing, some kissing but overall clean

Love at First Note by Jenny Proctor + $25 and Book Giveaway

Emma Hill was practically born with a violin in her hands. She lives for the life of the piece, for each song's story, for the perfect stillness after the end notes when the vibrations of sound are still humming through her body.

If only her love life were that harmonic. But she knew her chances at love would take a hit when she decided to leave her prestigious concertmaster position in the Cleveland Orchestra and move back home to Asheville, North Carolina. She justifies her actions with the fact that being concertmaster for the Asheville Symphony is better than no dates and no job.

But when Emma's world collides with piano-playing YouTube sensation Elliott Hart, she finds herself falling for the way he plucks at her heartstrings. Despite a, ahem, not-so-good first impression, the two soon develop the beginnings of a rhythmic relationship. But when Elliott insists they can't be together, it's up to Emma to strike up a little romance. Will she be able to bring their two worlds into harmony, or will she only manage to get herself in trouble?

Love.  Love, love, love, love, love.

So, so good.

Perfectly real, human characters who live, love, make mistakes and learn.  I loved the full on incorporation of music.  It was in every page and every feeling.  It made me want to go immerse myself in classical music.  I wish I could have heard the music described playing while I read.  That would have been perfect.  Maybe Jenny Proctor has a playlist somewhere for this book?  I need to check.  (yeah, just sent her an email...)  Okay, here is the link to the playlist for this book.  FIND IT HERE.  (Thanks, Jenny Proctor!)  Now you can listen to the music when you read the book.  I may just have to go back and read it again while listening.  It's a book worth perusing again.

Emma and Elliott were great characters.  There was a fantastic support of secondary characters for Emma in family and friends as well.  It all helped me, as a reader have a very clear picture of who Emma was and I loved seeing everything from her perspective.  Especially Elliott.  So romantic.  The tension is fantastic.

This is an LDS fiction book, but the references to religion are minimal.  (no drinking, no sex before marriage, a few scenes at church)  Clean and so much fun!
