But Dru's a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She's also ferociously determined to uncover the identity of Gray's stalker. And she's just as determined to avoid any kind of romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past. But the closer they get to finding the stalker, the closer they grow to each other. As the danger rises, can Dru and Gray entrust their hearts--and their lives--to one another?
I will easily admit that I'm a bit obsessed with Becky Wade's books. I love them. I just cannot help it. I'm always on the lookout for her next book and I hate the wait in between. Yes, excitement levels were high for this book because I've been waiting to read about Dru.
Dru is nothing like me. I can't really imagine being anything like her but I think she is awesome. Sometimes it's just great fun to read about and love a character that is nothing like you but has qualitites you wish you had. Dru is tough and smart and super good at what she does. She has killer instincts and shooting skills to match. She rides a motorcycle and knows how to fight. In real life, she would probably really intimidate me.
Gray is a tough guy too. Dru and Gray share many similar characteristics. It causes them to butt heads frequently but therein lies the fun. Gray starts out not liking Dru and then decides to revert to his childhood and tease and taunt Dru to get reactions. Of course, everyone knows that when a boy teases you, he likes you. Gray likes Dru. Then he wants more but Dru is doing her best to keep the professional lines in place.
I enjoyed the bit of suspense in this book. It gave it a great flavor and fit Gray and Dru's personalities perfectly. This book was fantastic, beginning to end. I loved it.
