Companion Novella to The Unofficial Zack Warren Fan Club
Kyle B. Johnston is looking for a girl. A nice one. One who actually wants to be with him this time. His friend, Emma Parker, offers to help him improve his image and in return he agrees to set her up with a good guy. When Kyle starts to see Emma as something other than a friend, he keeps it a secret. But what Kyle doesn't know is that Emma's been keeping a secret of her own.
This was a quick novella, full of fun and all sorts of tension building and sparks. I loved how Kyle and Emma are friends first. They are trying to help each other but soon realize that the connection between them is undeniable.
I read through this book in one sitting. The characters felt real and the reading was effortless. I enjoyed getting both Emma and Kyle's point of view. I thought the underlying message of accepting people for who they are was a good one. Emma has a past and secrets that she worries about. She is afraid that once people know, they won't like her as much. I'm so glad that Kyle proves her wrong. He is a good friend to Emma.
My caution in this book would be the language which was a huge distraction for me. The F word is used, more than once, which is a big turn off for me in books. That's just my word of caution though. Take it or leave it as you wish. :)
The Unofficial Story of Kyle B. Johnston is just .99 on Amazon right now. That's a great price for a fun YA romance.
