I have been anticipating this book for so long!  It's the final book in the Chesapeake Valor Series!  I would recommend reading these books in order.  They follow a group of friends and while each book is focused on one main character, each friend has story development in each one.  The books are so intertwined that reading them in order is essential.  I was so excited to finally get to Kate and Luke and reach some resolution for all these friends.

This book, as with all the other books in this series, is full of fast paced action and suspense.  It is balanced so well with character interaction and story development.  I love reading these kinds of books and Dani Pettrey is a master at writing them.  

I have loved getting to know these characters.  They feel real to me which is exactly where I want to be as a reader.  I am glad to see the conclusion of this series and some resolution for the characters.  They deserve a nice, long rest!  ha.

If you love suspense/mysteries you really need to pick up this series and this book.  It is full on and intense.  There is never a dull moment and I was fully engaged from beginning to end- almost desperate at times.  Eek!  So good!  I would highly recommend reading these books in order.  The characters are all so heavily involved in each book, you will really miss out on knowing them and their backgrounds if you don't read in order.  There is also an ongoing sort of missing persons mystery going on throughout the first three books that comes to a head at the end of this book.  It would be such a spoiler if you don't read the other books first!

The lives of a group of friends intertwine as do their individual stories within each book in this series.  I am amazed with Dani Pettrey and her ability to weave these stories, their plots and characters so seamlessly together.  

This book is intense!  Did I mention that already?!  Ha.  It was hard to put down but I had to because I can't read stories like this at night.  I'm such a big chicken and I get all worked up.  I love sleep too much to risk being scared all night!  There are car chases, shooting scenes, detective work, running and hiding.  It barely lets you catch your breath before something else happens.  

This book is Christian Fiction, or Inspirational Fiction.  The characters rely on their faith and trust in God to guide them through difficult situations.  It isn't done in a preachy way, just as a seamless part of their lives.  I love that about this series. 

I can't wait to read the next book!!  This book leaves off in a way that just makes you crazy for the next book.  Arg!  Waiting isn't my favorite.  :)

This is the second book in the Chesapeake Valor series.  I loved the first book, Cold Shot, and I knew I would be coming back for more in this series.  Dani Pettrey is one of my favorite authors in the Christian Fiction world.  

I have to say that this book gave me the willies.  It was creepy and the whole plot was a little (or a whole lot) twisted and dark.  This book felt a bit different than other books Pettrey has written and I can't say that I loved this book as much as previous books I've read, but it definitely had my attention.

I do love how we have the same main characters in every book.  They all work together and separately so we have a chance to know them all bit by bit.  There were two different story lines happening here (actually, there were three but one is really in the background) so I'm anticipating the one that didn't reach a resolution will continue on as the main focus in the next book.

This book has a lot of characters but I never felt like I was lost or couldn't keep track of who was who.  It took me a quick minute to remember the previous book and how all these characters were interwoven, but once it started coming back, it was easy to relax into the story.  Well, as relaxing as a creepy, twisted story can be.

I read through this book quickly (but not at night!).  I suspected everyone at some point or another of something and I didn't see that ending coming at all.  Crazy!  I will be coming back for the next book, I just hope the creepy, dark, twisted stuff is taken down a notch.

Content:  Violence, some graphic and disturbing scenes, murder.  Innuendo, some references to drug use, sexual activity with no details.  No swearing or profanity.  Some light Christian elements- characters praying for help.

I really loved this book.  I am a fan of Dani Pettry and her books.  I love her writing style and I am always drawn into her books instantly.  It's hard to put them down.

This is the beginning of a new series which I'm really excited about.  Griffin is a complex character.  He's hiding things and holding a lot back but as the story progresses, the past unfurls itself.  I love how all the characters here are so intertwined and I love how I am progressively let into the loop.  It allowed me to know the characters and form my own opinions about them before knowing everything.  I loved Griffin.

This book is like a suspense mystery with a bit of romance.  The romance is slow forming and not the main focus, but it is there.  Finley is easy to like and smart.  I enjoyed watching things develop between her and Griffin.  It seemed natural and real.

Yup, I just enjoyed all things about this book.  I'm already looking forward to the next book.  It's going to be a looooong wait!
