I...So sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this book! I fell in love with the descriptive language on the first page. <br /><br />You're right, however, about how depressing the concept of the book is. It was certainly a darker read than what I usually pick up. <br /><br />As you read, did you pick up on any similarities between this story line and Lord of the Flies or The Chocolate War?
